The Three John Scotts

The Three John Scotts, Hull

The pub in which Colin Ray begins to unravel the truth about the Headhunters.

This Wetherspoon’s pub is named in honour of a trio of local clergy. For most of the 19th century, St Mary’s Church, opposite, was run by three successive vicars, all called John Scott. For many years the premises was the city post office.

“It’s a place where men in their eighties place their daily budget on the table in front of them and keep drinking until it’s gone or the fruit machine pays out. It’s a pub that caters to the sort of clientele who like their fried breakfasts with a whisky chaser. It starts serving pints at 9am.”TAKING PITY

TAKING PITY

They have taken DS Aector McAvoy’s family.

They have taken DCI Colin Ray’s foundation.

They have taken DS Trish Pharaoh’s fight.

Now the ruthless criminal network that has tightened its stranglehold on Hull intends to take everything that remains from those who dare to stand in its way.

Taking Pity is a police procedural thriller that pulls no punches. It is the story of three officers who can take no more, and a merciless nemesis that takes no chances, no prisoners and no pity.

‘Excellent . . . Mark weaves a complicated web of deception, betrayal, and violence as the action builds to a stunning conclusion.’
