The Reader

The Reader by Bernhard Schlink - featuring a die-cut of two droplets with an endpaper by Ann Muir Marbling Ltd. The drops refer to the sessions of reading in the bath which sparks the intense love affair at the heart of the novel. The drops also imply suffering as they could be seen as tears or blood. The marbled endpaper, traditionally used in books, plays on the title of the book itself.
